Default BB Special

I've got enough stats to know the SB is a calling station, but no table reads yet. I've been at the table 20-30 minutes and if he's made a bet or showndown a winning hand yet I must've been concentrating on a different table. Easy fold, or anyone think he's pulling a fast one often enough to call down?

Flop: (2 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (1 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

I´m folding. Sometimes I bet the flop, sometimes I check the turn.

That is a fold in my book. A player like this will almost always have ace or better.

Though I should be ahead a little over 50%, I'm almost certainly going to need the best hand at showdown to win, and this hand will be difficult to play on the turn and river if I don't improve. Any effective equity that I have has got to be small, and folding equity is nonexistent to miniscule. Are you thinking of something else that I'm missing?

This one puzzles me even more. I don't like my winning chances if I get two bets out of this player on the river, and he's more likely to call the turn if he has nothing.

Against a known calling station, I agree. What makes it questionable for me is the fact that I know his betting standards are either fishy or very high, but not which. This one felt like a bet from nowhere, and that can dictate a higher calling frequency. I'm just not sure if it's enough argument to swing the decision.

The pot is small, and all evidence to this point indicates villian is a loose/passive. That makes it an easy, easy fold after the turn c/r. He's probably got some bizarre holding like J3o.

I think not betting the flop here is a pretty significant mistake. You definitely take it down 1 in 3 times. I'd guess you take it down more than 1 in 2 times.

Calling stations dont fold to flop bets thats why they are calling stations.

He nearly always has some trash 2 pair here.

I check the flop as well and then fold to the turn raise. I think I'm behind too often and could get sucked in for 2BBs.
