AK 3 suited flop, how would you play it?
Opponent is very LAG been calling 4xBB pre-FP raises with J5 off, T6off. If he limps then he'll call almost any raise. After the flop he stays aggressive. He is EP and limps I in SB AKoff Raise 12, he reraises 22, I Call. Fp A86 all diamonds, I Check, he bets 50 and I re-raise All-in 187 and he calls. T (4d) R(2d). He turns over JdJh and wins. How would you have played this?

Wait, did you have the K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]? I don't get your play. Why did you check-raise such a scary board?
Also, we need more info. Stack sizes, what stakes, etc. |

Re: AK 3 suited flop, how would you play it?
So I'm guessing that this was a 1/2 NL game?
I would lead out on this flop. If you had the K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], this line is OK, but since you check raised, and the villain actually had about 45% equity in the hand, he was correct in calling you. This is a very scary board and you want to protect your hand. Lead out for about a 3/4 pot bet. |

Re: AK 3 suited flop, how would you play it?
His PF reraise told me big pair. When he flop bet 50 I was pretty sure he had a big pair with a diamond. we were 57-43 and the pot was offering him about that, so i knew we were in a race situation. Leading out for 3/4 or the pot would proabably saved me 130 if he decided to just call, but I felt sure he was going to move in if i did that, so ckeck raising seemed the only way to add the remote possibility of him giving me his fold equity. He showed a lot of agression with his draws, etc.

So tell me . . .
Just out of curiosity, and not because it matters . . .
How many people were at the table? What were the blinds? What were the stack sizes? Wait, never mind, it does matter. I can't answer your question until you answer mine. |
