Dealer who couldn\'t deal Omaha
I was playing in an Omaha/8 game where the dealer was totally incompetent. She couldn't read who had the best hand, couldn't tell when there should be a kill, couldn't split the pots correctly, etc. Everyone was getting on her. I have never seen anything like it.

Re: Dealer who couldn\'t deal Omaha
Come to vegas then. 95% of the rooms dont even spread omaha anymore. You find a lot of dealers bouncing from one room to the next and all that is dealt is Holdem. Then toss Omaha in there, and for someone with little to no experience in it, it's tough. Too many backseat [censored] dealers is the problem in card rooms. If the dealer needs help, management should assist, not the players. First thing a dealer is tought..."dont listen to the players".

What was your point? You just needed to come on here with this brilliant post? Stop the presses. A dealer was learning a new game and was having a tough time. Next time sit out for 30 minutes, forget about it, and post something hand related. Nobody here cares that you were forced to endure a new dealer.

Not at all. Just not a unique experience. It was posted like we should all say, "Ohh my GOD.. Lynch the dealer!"

Re: Dealer who couldn\'t deal Omaha
Yeah, thats it. Good read. We spread $10-$25 with a $50 straddle 7 days a week. The last Omaha game I dealt before I took a shift job was $4000-$8000 to Sam Farha, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, and Johnny Chan.

I just didn't understand why you condoned incompetence. I still don't. I understand new dealers. What I don't understand is the lack of training many clubs have. I do not understand 'established' dealers who could not deal a game of Go Fish, yet keep their jobs because of "who they know", while excellent dealers get fired because they do not 'play politics'. |
