15-30 routine big blind hand
No read on the turn caller.

Re: 15-30 routine big blind hand
bet the river, if button had a 9 he would have bet it on the flop.
he doesn't. but he likely has a random ace or paired lower card. bet the river. -Barron |

Re: 15-30 routine big blind hand
I would bet the flop.
River check would be OK against an aggressive player, but it seems button is unlikely to bluff bet the river as he didn't bet the flop, so I would bet the river. |

Re: 15-30 routine big blind hand
I like betting that flop for 2 reasons.
One is that it's an unraised pot. No one has shown any strength. Second is that the action can very easily go bet-raise by overs posturing and muscling it, and now it's 2 cold back to you and that's no good. They might still raise if you lead, but it'll be more likely to get a free card. It's less of a decision to call the raise and check the turn, so unless they fire again at a blank, you're less likely to be pushed off the hand on the turn. |

If we're raised on the turn it's an easy fold, right? [/ QUOTE ] no. with the flop action the way it was and the top card pairing on the turn, you can't fold to a raise. |

Re: 15-30 routine big blind hand
did you plan to check raise the flop and just whiff? I would personally bet out though a check raise is nice too.
You have to bet the river. Most likely hand is 66 or 55 who will call down most of the time |

I was only going to CR if the action went exactly: UTG checks, Button bets, SB folds.... Hero Checkraises. Luke |

I would bet this preflop if there were 3 players in the pot, but not with 4.

As you see, we checked it down on the river. My opponent turned over AJo and MHIG.
I pretty much agree with most of you that I really need to bet the river. If he had a ten or was slowplaying a set, I would have heard something on the flop or turn. The flop bet is a little more debatable IMO. Against 2 players, I'm pretty much always betting this and against 3 I'll bet it some of the time. Being that UTG was a poster, I think I had enough reason to make this the "some of the time" that I bet here against 3 opponents. Thanks for all the comments. Luke |
