Live 5/10 79o BB special hand, flop decision
Playing in a pretty good 5/10 game, live.
I have 79o (suits not important) Flop comes 6 8 J. SB folded, so I'm first to act with about 6 limpers. I bet, 2 calls, 1 raise, 1 3-bet. Should I cap or call? The 3-better is passive, the raiser is a loose raiser and has folded to aggression before. The 2 callers are variable: they will call my bet with anything but a cap from me will probably fold anything less than top pair. the 3-bet might make them stick it out with bottom pair (like i said, it was a good table). So...cap or call? |

call
Edit: I guess I'll give some reasons If they fold bottom pair that's bad for you. The 3-bettor is passive and he's going to have a showdown-worthy hand (Jacks or better) almost always. You're not winning this pot without hitting the straight. You don't gain any outs by knocking people out. 3 bets 5 ways is better than 4 bets 3 ways for your hand on this flop. |

We probably have around 28% equity or so (32% we make our straight, discounting for sets/splits, it's all approx), so with 4 callers you definetly have value. Not so with 2. Even if you got 3, which would give you some value out of a cap, it's thin and you'll probably make more by calling and then being able to c/r your straight on the turn/river when it comes in. |

call. if you cap. you could miss your draw on the turn and what would you do then. so if you call you can just call down and put a nice c/r when you card does hit.
