Deepish stacks, top pair + flush draw. \"Pretty standard stuff, really\"
Online no limit game. Villain has not gotten out of line that I've seen. He doesn't seem exceptionally strong or weak but he is at least reasonably tight pre-flop and is the second biggest stack at the table behind me. The rest of the players are pretty weak as far as I can tell, mostly of the "way too loose pre-flop, give up on the flop" variety.
Villain has about 200x the big blind, I have 300. We both have at least 1.5x what anyone else in the hand has. Pre-flop: UTG limps, UTG+1 (villain) raises to 4x the big blind. Two players cold-call (a bit unusual), I call from the big blind with KdQd and the first limper calls. The flop: a black Queen and two diamond rags. Given that the limpers are likely to give up pretty easily and that the villain and I are pretty deep, what line do you like to take, here? SpaceAce |

i would definitely lead the flop for starters
i think most of the time a check raise would be expected from a hand of this strength, but you need information (as this is what your post is about in my mind) excessive action behind you involving the big stack makes this easy. a raise from a shorter stack is easy to play. if they just call youre probably way or slightly ahead. |

Bet 100 on the flop and go from there. What to do from there depends on who calls (or raises) and what there stack sizes are.

I'm leading, hoping for Villain to raise so I can come back over the top. I want to put him to a decision - it will be hard for him to call there with anything but QQ, and even then you are alive.

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly, I am hoping to get a reasonable raise out of the villain. I don't know this villain well enough to know if he is the kind to go broke with such a big stack if he only has AA but I don't think he is. I think he folds AA, KK and AQ if I come over the top and even if he calls, I am drawing very live, although my prospects are grim is he holds QQ. SpaceAce |
