How badly did I botch this?
Stars Main Event Qualifier. About 200 of 300 left. Hero’s stack is a bit above average at 4500. I’ve been playing safe, not overly weakly, but very tight, having seen 12% of flops thus far. In this hand, I’m dealt AA in the BB. There are two limpers to me, EP and CO. blinds are 50/100. I choose to raise to 250, hoping to get one caller. My idea is to get heads up and pick up a few chips, without taking too many risks. EP (moderately loose and moderately aggressive) calls and CO drops out.
The flop is KQ9r. I bet 250, just under half the pot. EP makes it 750, and I push. Flame away! |

Re: How badly did I botch this?
1. you need to raise more preflop. The fact the the CO dropped out is astounding given the price he got.
2. That flop is miserable for you, but I'm not sure what you can do. I think I probably call the raise and reevaluate on the turn. Pushing the flop here probably doesn't get called by anything you beat. |
