Against a TAG should I release this when raised?

Re: when raised on the turn?
If you read him as a TAG then fold. You might be folding once in a while to a flush draw or something, but you're done here a large majority of the time and this pot is small.

Re: when raised on the turn?
In this situation it is close, because the pot is small. The thing that jumps out at me is you are probably looking at a split pot situation.
It is possible that the button limped in with some form of an (8) maybe A8s, j8s, T8s, 98s, or 78s. I would have thought that he would be likely to raise anything A9s or above preflop, a lot of people would have raised any Axs pf in his position. So it is possible he is just plain popping you, he may have some form of 8, or he may have paired a queen and think he's good. Not to sound wishy-washy, but I dont't think calling down was bad. But I think a strong case can be made for folding, because unless he is just outright bluffing, you are most likely bady behind or splitting the (smallish) pot. Against a passive player, I would feel strongly about folding. If this was a LAG, I would lean toward calling down. |

Re: when raised on the turn?
I'm calling this down the majority of the time. The size of this pot makes me not mind folding, but add a couple more bets and i really do not like folding. If he is a tag and limped preflop, I'm putting him on a small Axs, or baby suited connectors. He has the button with 1 limper, there are a lot of raising hands in that situation. with him limping, it screams weak to me. I'm behind any 8, AQ, and AK. I want to show this down.

IF he has the A, he has Axs just like you, and he knows the Q on the turn just protected his kicker. IMO if you don't fold the turn raise, you must call the river. I think you played this fine. |
