Default $2/$10 Holdem - Spokane Washington Cardrooms - Others?

Casinos spread a $2/$10 Hold'em game in Spokane, WA.

Has anyone played this style.

Apparently $2 to call PF, but you can raise any amount to $10 - so you could make it $12 to go.

I'm not sure how the flop betting would go, and I assume turn and river action is $10???

That being the case.... I have not a friggin clue how to adjust my PF game. more flops?, less flops?, always raise the max if I'm raising?

Theory of Poker would advocate more pots since future bets would/could be larger? - thus higher implied odds?

Help!

I think it's a 2-10 spread for all streets.

If everyone is limping, and there's little raising preflop, you can see more hands. If players are raising, you play tighter.

It depends on the implied odds you will likely get during the hand. Which can change depending on the texture of the game. Watch how opponents play postflop action-wise.

Kind of like the 4-8, 1/2 blind, 1/2 kill game at Mandalay Bay. Except this structure could easily go 10-10-10-10 or 2-2-2-10 or anywhere in between. Much like a pot limit game or, in some regards, a no limit game. I'd look into pot limit for some better insights to use in this structure that may give you some ideas.

do you mean a SPREAD limit game?

what i play in my home game?

plays like no limit only w/ a cap to max bet? (in this case: 10?)

pot limit theory is probably the closest to spread limit games like this...

Ah i understand why we have it backwards. in TOP (i just reread the section with this in it) you are supposed to play dramatically looser if the current bet is alot smaller than future bets because of a great amount of implied odds. and this makes sense.
Now some of us got confused and had it mixed up (me and some other guy). Why we got mixed up is because Sklansky says when the "ANTE" is small you should play tight because there is less money in the pot. and hold'em as we know it is not a game of ante's. to set things strait
