Does anyone have this chips? Are the quality as good as Bud Jones? Is 1.00 per chip a good price?

I dont have that set, but I have samples from Matsui, the manufacturer. I think they are top-notch quality. One time I laid out a few dozen samples of MANY different kinds of chips, and my mom pciked this chip as her favorite among them. My dad then picked it separately as his second favorite among all my samples.

That, at least, says a lot.

Those are nice chips. On sale for $1 each at HPC, they're a pretty good deal. But they're certainly in the category of high-priced chips. These coin-centered chips are a third choice for good chips (with clay and ceramic).

They feel and play great, and the sound is really good. They are a nice weight and make for a great game. But it's personal taste, and some folks don't like coin chips.

The Matsui chips are way, way better than the tons of coin centered chips that are showing up on eBay these days.

I actually like the design of the Rounders chips a little better than Murphy's, though they're more expensive. Both sets have great multi-color designs -- can't go wrong either way.

The are definitely NOT the same as real Bud Jones. My only complaint about the Murphy's/Rounders chips are that the plastic portion is hard and slick, so they don't stack as well. Real BJs have a smooth but rubbbery feel, and they stick and stack wonderfully. But you pay through the nose for them, if you can even find 'em (they don't sell to consumers).

Personally, I think the Matsui coin-inlayed chips are just a bit more plasticky than Bud Jones chips. The plastic just seem a bit harder than the Bud Jones chips. I have plenty of both types of chips to know what feels good. I think the Bud Jones chips are just a tad better than the Matsui chips. The non coin-inlay Matsuis are good, but still just a tad shy in terms of feel than from the Bud Jones and the B&G chips.
