How many times can the floor card you in one session?
I was at Turning Stone this weekend, playing some good ol' 1/2 NL. Minding my own business, I was doing poker-like things such as betting and raising... when I was interrupted by some security guards.
I'm over 18, so the ID check didn't take too long -- but different guards returned to the same table two more times in the next few hours. Some of the people getting carded repeatedly were clearly in their mid-20s. Does anyone else think this is tacky? I don't care how many times the security shift changes... I'm sure that isn't the welcoming image that a casino/resort is going for. -DB |

Compared to the potential liability issues of letting minors gamble, it's probably a small price to pay to piss a few very young players off. They could try to be nice about it tho.

i dont know about the stone, but the borgata has a stamp they'll put on your hand the first time you're id'd so the employees dont have to card you any more. see if they have a similar system up there.

Re: How many times can the floor card you in one session?
there are fake ids that you can purchase on the internet that expire after several uses. security makes a habit out of carding players repeatedly because they know that if you have purchased one of these ids, the id will magically turn into dust after enough uses and they can then escort you out of the building head first.

Re: How many times can the floor card you in one session?
I never understood why young people get upset about being asked for proof of their age.
I was that age once. I never once considered this treatment "harassment". If dude let's me in, and I'm not of age, dude gets SHUT THE [CENSORED] DOWN. I always understood that. Why do so many others have trouble with this simple concept? |

Try to look older next time. I never get carded in FW and didn't at Turning Stone and I'm only 21.

How about affixing your ID to the bill of the cap you're undoubtedly wearing to the table? Saves everyone time.

Risk vs reward. Also if you havent noticed most casino's (not the mngnr or the dealers mind you)don't care for the poker players all that much (there not going to mising there 3 dollar rake from you )
So pissing a few off oh well. funny thing . i don't get carded much at all anymore except in Canada , where the age is 19 it always cracks me up |

Re: How many times can the floor card you in one session?
Yeah, I think the floor person should card them, that way security can worry about OTHER more important things... and avoid this...
I found out once an 18 yr old was in my tournamnet during a break, in Nevada, it's 21, I promised not to blow his cover, unless we got heads up. He was OBVIOUSLY not 21.... that was the thing that bugged me. Oh yeah, he didn't get heads up, he was knocked out a few spots shy of cashing... >TW< |
