2-4 NL
No responses in the small stakes forum, so I'll try
here! Iīm playing a 2-4 euro 8 max game online Started with 100 and have worked my way up to 400 when this hands comes up. The game is perfect as I see it because it contains a couple of actionplayers that like to bet, raise and and bluff. Maybe not total LAGs, but far from tight. Villian in this hand has gone from 800-900 to just over 400 in the time Iīve been there and is one of the actionplayers. If he senses weaknees he will re-raise with nothing but he is also capable to let a hand go if pushed. He has me covered in chips Ok, here goes! We are currently 6 players at the table and I see A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button and limp after all players in front of me limp. SB completes and villian checks in the BB We all take the flop of, A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] All check to me and I bet the full pot of 24 euro Since there is 2x [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and couple of gutshots out there I feel I have nothing against taking the pot right there Right or wrong? I must bet of course, but maybe Iīm commiting my self to much to an unraised pot if I bet the full pot? Ok, but the SB folds and villian checkraises me up to 72 from the BB My thinking now is that he of course could have a better hand but most likely is on some kind of draw/ace and is trying to push me of a bluff/weak holding (and if not, he still have outs) since I bet from last position. AA and TT doesnīt seem so logical and there is only 1 combo of 4:s left. I wasīnt actually suprised he raised, just feelt typical him. I end up re-raising him for half my stack to see him move in just like t h a t! I was now getting better than 3to1 and feelt I had a bigger chance than that so I called. I donīt want to be result oriented, because I lost the hand. Just wonder if I played badly loosing my hole stack in an unraised pot to start with What do u guys think? |

I end up re-raising him for half my stack to see him move in just like t h a t! [/ QUOTE ] I don't like this play much. If you are going with this hand on the flop I would prefer a push. Primarily because he is more likely to put you on a draw and make a thin call with AQ/AK. You are pot commiting yourself with the raise I think, so, by only rereaising half your stack, you are giving a draw better odds, and may have less folding equity, but at the same time, may get paid off less. As for deciding to play this hand for your stack starting with 100BB im not sure I am a fan of that. This is a tough hand to get away from with 6 players, but they all saw the flop, I think its pretty player dependant, there are plenty of six max games opponents I wouldn't have a problem getting in here with, but there are plenty I wouldn't feel comfortable about it. If I were you I would think back about what he has checkraised with previously, and if he has done it with draws or made hands, or one pair hands, or no one pair hands, pure bluffs, etc. Weigh your odds and make a read... |
