Hellmuth's commentary is the only thing that makes this show watchable. Jerry Van Dyke is absolutely laughable.

agreed....everytime we get to complaining about how ridiculous
Norman Chad or VVP are we should remember the days of Hellmuth as 'side-line commentator' (personally...I prefer looking at Shana) and Van Dyke on the play-by-play (or whatever the hell he was doing). Sexton and VVP don't make much sense a lot of the time....but some of those pre-TV boom broadcasts were just brutal. No wonder nobody used to watch poker on TV. It was completely unwatchable. |

I love the musical fades between hands. Yikes. The chips with the faces of the two players who contested the most recent pot was actually kinda cool.
One hand, play is going on, some guy is raising, and thru it all, Jerry is babbling on about how much he loves living in Mexico. Good grief. |
