Default Vegas Cardrooms

I have played at the following vegas card rooms, mostly NL action with either 1/2 blinds or 2/4 & 2/5 blinds perferred if avaliable. I have pretty much had a 70% success rate for a winning session. Tight, Agressive Play, buying in semi-short stacked when it looks like the game calls for it, or buying in for the max vice versa.
Following is the name of the card room with a one word description of the NL action I have found there.

Orleans - steady
Palms - juicy
Rio - overflowing
Mandalay Bay - insane
Binons - acceptable
Plaza - sour
Sahara - annoying
Excalibur - stinky
Mirage - sweet
Harrahs - fishy

I know I have not played at some good rooms such as ballys, aladdin & belliago.. But what i am curious about is information on the outlaying rooms such as Sams Town, Boulder Station & Sunset Station.

Any words r appreciated

Hey, could you rate those from worst to best places to try please?

I am a bit confused by adjectives... hehe

Aladdin=fishy, but getting tougher
Bally's=not so fishy
Bellagio=it's the Bellagio...... MIXED BAG...

Outside ones, I wouldn't bother, almost all locals... not fishy enough...

I play mostly limit so I'm not quite up on all the NL strategy. What type of game calls for buying in semi-short stacked?

Sam's Town and Boulder Station do not spread no limit. I'm not sure about Sunset Station though.

Buy in short stacked if the table is lose and you know that when you have the nutties, you'll get some callers.

yeah ive read allvegaspoker tons of times.. good help to start, but looking for a bit more...

ranking those rooms are overrated, cuz at any given time you have no idea how those tables are going.. yeah there may be locals who frequent those tables to make it good, but I think the best advice is fri nite & sat nite, almost every NL table in vegas is juicy.

At other times, they all have there all personality, as described on allvegaspoker & such

I perfer 2/5 with a capped buy-in because if i start playing 1/2 those one-gappers after awhile will start to look good.. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

You want one word reviews....

Bellagio - Varies
Santa Fe - Nice
Sunset Station - Delicious
New Town Tavern - Dangerous
Circus Circus - Clowns
Flamingo - Nirvana
Golden Nugget - Golden
Cannary - Wild
Luxor - Muppets
Gold Coast - Soft
Bally's - Softer
Imperial Palace - Softest
Aladdin - Heaven

At least those are the no-limit games I have played in recently (that did not appear on your list).

Best Wishes

Howard

-- Nice summary HB -- Your post might hold the record for the best NL poker room reviews in the fewest words. Classic.

The only one I don't get is Luxor? Muppets? What's that all about? Recently, I would describe the Luxor NL game as "chilly" FWIW.

I'd describe the locals there as "ancient" like the pyramids
