Default low content bankroll question

what's the biggest negative swing bb wise people have experienced playing NL with 100xbb buy ins? and when's a good indication to move down a level?

If your not certain you’re a winning player and lose 5x the max buy in or on most sites 100x the bb, I'd say it's a pretty clear indication to step down. Of course running bad happens to all of us I was once on a 2 week downswing that cost me 7x the max buy in, or 700bb.

My biggest downswing ever was 8 buy ins. After going back and evaluating my play, it was quite obvious that about 4 buy ins worth of losses were bad plays on my part brought on by frustration of bad beats.

Since then, Ive numerous downswings of about 4 buy ins but never more than that.

I lost 300BB yesterday in 3 hands - two 2 outers and a 4 outer. So I think a a 4 buy-in buffer is a little low, since these things do happen.

I've played enough to feel comfortable that my downswing can be 4 buy-ins, which can happen when I play like crap for a good stretch or get really unlucky. On-line, I feel comfortable with about 10 buy-ins devote to NL play on a particular site, so when a downswing does happen, I still have plenty of cushion on that site without moving funds around.

I didnt mean to inply that 4 buy ins was enough for a roll. Thats crazy. I was just stating my results. I play a lower variance game than alot of people Im sure, but I still pay WAY below my bankroll.
One of these days Im going to grow some cajones and play the bigger games as my regular game instead of just playing them now and then. I play mostly mid stakes because they are so low stress and low risk compared to the profit potential.

I wouldn't want to play 5/10NL with less than a 20 buyin bankroll. In aggro games with a few good players in the mix, a 10 buyin downswing is very easy.
