Default What\'s this? Another AA hand??

UTG+2 has looked slightly loose but normal over ~20 hands. MP1 is an unknown on his first orbit. MP2 is your average, every day LAG fish who is equally happy raising AKs and J4o preflop.

Painfully standard? I believe it's the first time I've ever folded AA, so I wanted to check.

Food for thought:

What about check-calling the river?

If you bet and he has a spade, he's calling or raising. And by the way this hand was played, it sure looks like he's on a single spade draw.

If he doesn't have a spade and you bet, he's most likely folding.

If you check, and he doesn't have a spade, he may bluff at the pot. In which case, you can call, investing no more than your original "bet/fold" line, but with the added value of inducing a bluff.

It's a marginal difference overall, but ...

I thought about that after the fact, although at the time all I could think about was Clarkmeister's theorem.

The flip side is, if he's calling down with smaller pockets or a pair (no spade), he might call a single bet where he'd check through otherwise, true?

This isn't true if he's holding anything decent.

EDIT: Most people don't value bet non-flushes nearly enough of 4 flush boards.
