Default Some basic PT questions

What exactly is VPIP and how is it calculated?
What is a 1)good and 2)excellent BB/100?
Are the standard player auto-ratings any good?

Thanks

Default Re: Some basic PT questions

The PokerTracker forum would be a better place to ask these questions. That being said... I'll bite.

VP$IP stands for 'voluntarily put money in pot.' It refers to the times pre-flop when you see a flop, excluding those times when you get to see a free flop in the blinds or when you posted a blind out of position. VP$IP plus the % of times when you get to see a flop by checking a blind equals your saw flop%.

A good BB/100 depends on the betting structure (limit or NL). For limit Hold'em, anything between 0 and 1 is okay with room for improvement. Between 1 and 2 is good. 2 to 3 is very good. Anything greater than 3 means your killing the particular limit. Please wait until you have a MINIMUM of 10,000 hands before you even think about bragging about your BB/100. A lot more hands than that is of course better.

The standard auto-rate options are good.
