What is a good BB/100 for .05/.10 ?
I am wondering what type of BB/100 is acceptable for play at the .05/.10 limits. I am at 4.29BB/100 over 4603 hands (I know sample size, sample size, I need a bigger sample size). What worries me is that others have said that 5BB/100 and better is easily attainable at this low limit. I am also worried that 4.29 BB/100 might not be that great because there is no rake at the Paradise .05/.10 limit. When I have 400BB saved up (200BB for the .10/.20 level) I plan on moving up.
My primary goal is to make $50/hr (or better), so I can supplement my income a little. (Heck if I can make $50/hr I might make poker my income) Anyway, just wanted to know where I stand in the .05/.10 game. Thanks for your input. |

Just keep truckin' and building your bankroll and improving your skill, and everything will come together.
Don't worry about these kinds of things, just improve your game and move up ASAP so you can start playing in the tougher games and learning even more. |

Your stats have very little meaning right now. You shouldn't even be thinking about playing for $ yet. Put in the hands and the hours and come back to us in 10k more hands (hopefully, you should be at .1/.2 by then). |

Wow $50/Hour would be pretty sweet (playing 1-4 tables). I dream about making $15/Hour, but then again I'm not that good.

I'm pretty sure with the right technology I could make $50 / hour 16 tabling Party 0.50/1. Anyone want to set me up with 4 1600x1200 res flat panels and the necessary graphics cards? Of course after my first hour I would need much more than $50 to make me sane again.

Don't even worry about your win rate at this point, just focus on trying to play correctly.
After 4600 hands, you can only say (with 95% confidence and a 16BB/100 SD), that your win rate is somewhere between -0.3 BB/100 and +8.9 BB/hr. |

BB/100 > 0 is pretty good. but, without rake, and with optimal play for that limit (not that I know what that is) I bet 9+ BB/100 is sustainable without rake.

Re: What is a good BB/100 for .05/.10 ?
by z do you mean normal? and do you choose the t distribution due to sample size? please elaborate, I'm a pure math guy but not so much a statistician.

Re: What is a good BB/100 for .05/.10 ?
z and t are both Normal distributions. The difference is that z assumes you are working with the full "known" population and t is a sample of that population.
Better info is available from the Hyperstat web site: Hyperstate Online The other thing is that since the winrate and StdDev are in units per 100 the sample size is estimated at 46 instead of 4600. This is important when computing a figure referenced as Sm. Sm = StdDev/Sqrt(sample size) |
