i think its probably the best production of a poker show, but too many amateurs for me to be entertained.

There was one amazing hand between a 96o and a J6o. Both guys had nothing and ended up playing a huge pot with J6 pushing all in on the river with jack high. Even Daniel was flabbergasted at how these guys were playing. Can anyone give the exact breakdown of how that hand went?

Why, you cant be entertained by amateurs playing....

Whats funny is I believe the 2 best rated poker events of all time featured amateurs as the most compelling figures (last 2 WSOP main event final tables)

did i say that i was entertained by the final table play at the wsop? no. was i? no i wasnt. not from a strategical standpoint. i was entertained by the sheer magnitude of the importance of the tournament, but the production was poor because the hands shown were solely the allin hands. btw, greg raymer, marcel luske, dan harrington, david williams, al kruk, and josh arieh may not have been famous prior to the event, but i would hardly at all consider them amateurs as far as their level of play is concerned.

I was entertained by your use of word? strategical....

Ok, its late, I am sorry that was a cheap shot.

Raymer and Moneymaker were amateurs at the time of their wins...thats what I was referring to.

Tonight I saw Nguyen, Harman, Kenna James, Plastik...and about a half dozen other known "Pros" playing..just an FYI for you.

I wasnt-am not flaming you, just I personally think watching amateurs can be just as fun(if not educational) as watching the big boys go at it.

I also think the line is pretty blurred in poker between pro and amateur. In my case however it painfully is not.

Check ultimatepokerchallenge.com for listings in your area. They're into the final 3 weeks of the series, with a new tournament schedule to be announced shortly with a different format.

I like UPC. You need some amateurs to make things interesting. If you predetermine the table to be all pros, you get a snoozefest like PSI.
