Best poker laptop for college
As some of you know, I'm graduating high school this spring. I'd like to know what would ideally be the best deal on a laptop for both college and poker.
Any ideas? Also, any threads I should be searching for to help? |

Re: Best poker laptop for college
I think the Dell 8600 or 9200 series would both be solid choices. I'm in law school and I have the 8600 and it kicks ass. I can easily 4 table with no overlap and still have extra space on the side to see IM programs and others. Plus the 15.4" widescreen is nice on the eyes for typing papers and even watching movies. I've even gamed on it, though I typically use my desktop for that.
The 8600 is relatively light as well so it makes lugging it around everywhere not too bad either. I've recommened it to several people (poker players and non) and all have been quite pleased. Just make sure to get a decent amount of ram to help out with PT and PV and the super hog cryptos. You should be able to find some good deals on these comps too. Dell had a $500 off and $750 off deal not too long ago and even the standard 25% off along with some stackables makes this comp really affordable. I've seen some toshiba's that look really nice and I've heard good things about them as well. But for my buck I'd go with the Dell 8600. |

Re: Best poker laptop for college
Here's what I reccomend:
get an IBM Thinkpad T series (42 or 43), a big monitor (like the dell 2001fp), and a docking station. Don't get a dell, they suck. |

Re: Best poker laptop for college
Is the Dell 2001fp a seperate monitor, or the monitor part on a laptop?
Because like I said, I'm looking for a laptop, something I can take to class for notes and such. |

My config is going to be: Pentium m 1.6a 1900x1200 512mb ram (2 dimm) 60gb hd radeon mobile 9600 cd-rw 4 year completecare warranty spare battery |

Hmm, good point. I'll have to look into that.

Re: Best poker laptop for college
Or maybe you don't. Dells do suck, just because they market well doesn't mean they have good computers.
