Default T9s at a sweet table.

Paradise Poker 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.25.
Hero calls, UTG+1 (poster) checks, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB raises, 1 fold, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls.

I make this call 100% of the time at loose tables. 3 behind me were 50%+VPIP/0% PFRs.

Flop: (15 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls.

Easy call, IMO.

Turn: (10 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, Button folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

Another definite call with about 6+ outs.

River: (16 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero ...

Here's a decent decision. Check raise, bet/raise, or bet/call? No significant read on MP1.

Sorry, my reasoning is that if you get reraised it would seem to me that he can put you on having a 10 and can beat you.

The action prior to the river is difficult to interpret. (I have hardly any idea what SB has -- something like QQ, maybe?) But MP1's sudden turn raise is a concern. A6 is certainly possible, but so are 98 and a slowplayed 77. Or maybe he has something like A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and didn't like his kicker on the flop but liked the draw he picked up on the turn.

I kind of want to checkraise, because I'd like SB to call one and then find out it's going to cost him more than that to see a showdown. At the same time, though, I am concerned about what MP1 holds and don't want to get 3-bet by him if I checkraise. Also, with his weaker holdings, he might check behind, especially if he wonders what you've been callling with and fears the 10 on the river.

So I guess I'd probably bet-call.

How aggressive is MP1? I kind of like going for the check/raise to trap a player but I probably wuss out and bet in fear of it getting checked through.

I think there's a real risk of it being checked through, and I would bet here and call a raise (if I had a read on MP1 as a bit goofy, I'd probably bet and 3-bet a raise).

Pretty much exactly my reasoning. Here's the full hand:

Paradise Poker 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.25.

Flop: (15 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (10 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, Button folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

River: (16 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, SB calls.

Final Pot: 18 BB

Results below:
SB has Qh Qd (two pair, queens and tens).
Hero has 9c Tc (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: Hero wins 18 BB.
