Heads up river cap?
BB is 92.86/0/.3 over 30 hands
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 8 folds, Hero raises, BB calls. Final Pot: 13 BB Hot damn, flop the straight heads up. This should be worth a few. I lead until the river where he wakes up and caps on me. WTF? I lead this river every time right? He's going to call anyways, and probably won't bet into me unless he's got a hot hand, betting is obviously +EV. But am I wrong to three bet and call the cap? Does he have the full house here most of the time? I'm trying not to look at this in a results orientated fashion, and it seems like I need to fold to his first river raise.. giving him too much credit maybe? Anyone find a cap against this type of player? |

Re: Heads up river cap?
30 hands doesn't mean much IMO. You have to 3-bet it. If he was the opener and u raised and he 3-bet, then u can think about a call.

Re: Heads up river cap?
I think this is the only way you can play it. If he had a FH you would have likely heard from even a passive opponent before he filled up.

But am I wrong to three bet and call the cap? [/ QUOTE ] 3-betting the river is easy and calling the cap is easier. My guess is you lost it to K9. |

[/ QUOTE ] Haha ya really, I think he meant A9 maybe? His VPIP ia approaching 100% there, so A9 Q9 T9 are all within the realm of possibility. 9x for that matter.. |

Fold to his river raise?!?
[Smack] No way. Call the river raise - A9 or TT are not out of the question here. |

Villain had 10/9o for the flopped bottom pair, runner runner full house. I posted this hand, because I really think this is a fold. I've run into these situations where I have the nuts against a passive high vpip opponent many times, and almost every time his capping on the river indicates I'm crushed. Players this passive and loose can read boards, and only seem to find the raise button when they're near the nuts. Other players not have this experience of being dominated to such raising?
