Different/Intriguing strategy...
I've seen a few people with these stats in PokerTracker, but have never really read anything about this strategy, and am not sure whether or not it will be successful.
The strategy i'm talking about is people with the same VPIP as PFR. I've seen quite a few people at the 3/6 tables with stats like 12/12-15/15. Basically, they dont play unless they're coming in for a raise. I dont know how viable this strategy is, but I'm definitely curious enough to want to learn more about it. Is it mentioned in any books? Or have any forums adopted it as a successful strategy? Has anybody here used it? Success/failure stories? Thanks, DCW |

Re: Different/Intriguing strategy...
You can be successful that way...but not "the most successful". As you get to the higher limits, you're right, there is almost no limping, but 3/6?! yuck.

Re: Different/Intriguing strategy...
At 3/6, those people are leaving money on the table in the form of good limping hands. So, yes, they'll probably win playing only the top 12-15% of their hands & bringing them all in for a raise, but they won't win as much as someone playing more along the lines of 19/10.
