Reading 2+2 = -EV ???

I'm talking with another 2+2er right now and I've come to the conclusion that the ammount of time I spend posting/reading on 2+2 is costing me a lot of time that could be better off spent playing poker and making money.

Anyone else agree with this?

Especially when you're giving away money to guess hands! It's actually costing you. However, think of the enjoyment you get from the trolls.

I think reading it can be -EV because of the bad advice that gets propagated on this board.

It depends on how you read 2+2. If you're posting hands and trying to learn, then 2+2 is very +EV. If you just read OOT and small stakes no limit... no.

While I agree there is a fair share of bad advice, the good advice infinately outweighs the bad advice. If it wasn't for 2+2 I would be a crappy poker player.

True, but you can't just play poker or you'll burn out. You need something else to do while your four tabling.

Also, 2+2 is invaluable for moving up limits and learning new games. It helps with the more advanced stuff too. It would be foolish to start playing 10/20 and up without consulting the forums, (or shorthanded in general).

Also the forums help with new players. I wouldn't know about pockertracker or rakeback without the forums. ANd I think we'll agree rakeback is worth ALOT of EV.

I disagree. I think a lot of time is wasted on some topics, but theory is what is important to learn. You make a decision and you wonder what another player might have done and why. I think that is the foundation of 2+2
