Default This will make you feel better

So, I've been playing online poker for about 6 months. I initially deposited 1000 dollars and worked my way over time with ups and down from 2/4 to 10/20 and made my way up to 12,000. Today I sat at the 25-50 no limit table got and got rocked back down to .3 cents. I'm kind of in shock and i know i shouldnt have risked my whole bank roll to play in a high stakes game (allthough i was up 5 thousand the first hour) but I did and I will definately need a long break from poker. I hope those of you out there who feel like crap after losing a couple hundred within an hour feel a little better after reading this!

Almost as bad as a story from a Norwegian poker forum. One guy had grinded his way up to about $10 000. On his birthday he went partying with his friends and when he woke up hung over the day after, he wanted to play some poker.

When he logged on, he found his funds were down to $0.50. He discovered he had played NL drunk when he came home, but he could not remember anything.

Would have liked to see that hand history.

I too am confused as to why you would do this.
It just doesn't make sense.

It strikes me as a likely gambling-additiction symptom.

Blowing your whole $10k roll in one night is not just an 'accident'. It sounds pretty serious to me.

i think you may be overstating what happened here. he simply lost his money. that fact alone does not make him a compulsive gambler, or mean he has a gambling problem. nor does the act of risking your entire roll in one night.

i keep a live bankroll, and an online bankroll. evrey time i play live, my entire bankroll comes with me, and i am fully prepared to put it all on the table. does that make me a problem gambler? i don't think so.

cheers!
