Bet this river?
No reads, still in my first 200 hands at 1/2. If something else is out of line, please let me know.
What I'm curious to know is how to play the river here: ______________________ PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, UTG+2 calls, 4 folds, Button (Villain) calls, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (4 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 folds, Villain calls, SB calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, Villain calls, SB folds. Re: Bet this river?
Is a flop c/r out of the question here? With anybody except LPP, I think I'd be trying it. EP, a weak made hand. I think I'd bet/fold or bet/call the river depending on what Villain is like.

Re: Bet this river?
I have no idea who villain is, though. Do I check/call, bet/call, or bet/fold?
And is the flop worth trying to checkraise? |

Re: Bet this river?
If someone raises here it's 2 bets for you to see a showdown that you probably haven't won. Check/call here to ensure you're showing down for 1 bet.
That was my answer before I double checked and realized it was heads up. Bet/call the river here IMO. |

Re: Bet this river?
For sure bet this river. It's likely that your opponent caught a small piece of the flop, or was chasing the flush draw. If he happens to hold a Jack, you're going to pay him, but this looks like a good time to value bet.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm leaning towards bet/call here because the only draw I see hitting is that straight, he could be pulling on a diamond draw and then try to desperation bluff, and you're headsup. As for the flop c/r, I would, but I get the feeling I overuse it. |

Re: Bet this river?
I don't like the check raise on the flop. You don't want the flush draw to see a free card, and you have top pair with a big kicker. On top of that, if we don't know anythig about Villain, how do we know he's going to bet?
I think a bet was the right play. |

Re: Bet this river?
No chance on a check-raise on this flop, too likely to get checked through.
Good flop and turn bets. Barring a read, I bet/fold this (your high card is red), but I don't think it would be terrible to bet/call for a read. -d |
