Newbie to small stakes limit tables
I 've been playing poker on-line for 2 months now and I wanted to start playing live poker at my local casino. I've been playing tournament poker on Party. Won a tournament but other than lost plenty of money.
I wanted to play small stakes like 3-6, 4-8 Hold'em because that fits more into my budget. I was reading Super system and I was wondering if I should use Bobby Baldwin's section on Limit Poker as a reference of how to play small stakes or is that section more for High stakes limit? |

Re: Newbie to small stakes limit tables
You're much better off reading Small Stakes Hold'em by Ed Miller, David Sklansky, & Mason Malmuth. It is invaluable, and I recommend reading it through fully before starting at live 4/8 games.

And don't be afraid to read Hold'Em Poker by Sklansky and Malmuth first. It may seem elementary, but it is best to know it TOO well as opposed to not well enough. I still page through it. Good luck.

Re: Newbie to small stakes limit tables
id say start out at .5/1 at party. when you can beat that, move up to 2/4 and 3/6. you should be able to beat 3/6 and 4/8 live games pretty easily.

Re: Newbie to small stakes limit tables
I'm not looking at this at making a living but I do want to win. Looking to make some extra cash and also to play for fun. Can somebody actually make money playing small stakes poker?
