Computer Techie Help problem w/ Party & Skins
Just tried my new machine for poker.
Dimension 8400 WinXP, 3.2ghz, 1g ram, 128mb ATI Radeon X300 pci-e x16, 2-2001FP monitors. Everything works fine as long as 1 poker software is running. As soon as I start another party skin the screen lags badly or screen freezes. It shows poker software as "not responding" for up to 20 seconds in task manager. Tried 1 monitor, lowering graphics, different video card Nvidea6600, turned off all other programs including firewalls, antivirus, blockers. Nothing helps. Moved the 2001FPs to another machine. 1ghz, 524mb ram, 256 mb Nvidea5500 agp and programs work fine. More ram, better video card, unknown conflicts? Any thoughts, ideas, best guess appreciated. I'm not sure that you can play two party skins at once. Anyone?

You can play at more then 1 party skin, just not Poker now and party. Try turning off hardware accelration for your video card. Supposedly party software has troubles with that.

Re: Computer Techie Help problem w/ Party & Skins
Ok. I've tried lowering the acceleration. Uninstalling, reinstalling 1 at a time, reboot and install the next one. Nothing seems to help. Once a second skin is running everything still stutters and freezes.
Any more ideas out there? Thanks, WarBus |

Re: Computer Techie Help problem w/ Party & Skins
it's probably not a hardware issue. i'd say take a look at various software and driver settings on each computer and see what's different. do some snooping and see if you can find the cause that way.
