Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
what purpose does the flop c/r serve? I think the PFR is borderline

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
A5o is a bit weak from CO. I tend to drop to A7o from that position.
The rest is fine, although if he is the tricky type who might bluff raise the turn then I'd probably just call him down. |

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
I think the flop checkraise is fine here, if this player will call the flop raise as well as a turn bet with unpaired overcards, as most players probably would. A player who 3bets a CO openraise has a fairly wide range of hands in this game and I would be fairly confident that hero is ahead here. An alternate line that I think would be better against a player who would dump overcards early is the check/call, check/call, bet line.

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
So he'll fold his 6 outer on the turn or incorrectly call or definitely show me I'm behind?

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
I Dont try and steal with A5o from the CO
after that, I think you played it fine. The flop c/r is standard in this spot IMO |

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
What do you put him on on the turn when you are folding getting 8.7:1 ?

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
I wouldn't steal with that hand in CO preflop. I think that usually it is unprofitable. Though I really can't say...
I like your check-raise on the flop. I think it's the best way to go. Also I guess you have to fold on the turn. I don't think you are good often here. |

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
You're saying I surely have 5 outs and should call here. Interesting, in the heat of battle, I hadn't even noticed how large the pot had grown.

Re: Appropriate Blind steal?
yep and sometimes he will have raised for a free showdown and you take it down on the river
If he bets the river, then you have a tougher decision. |
