Default 78s two cold preflop

The only read I remember was that UTG was a big time LAG and that the blinds were both on the loose side.

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls, Hero calls, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: (11 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, UTG bets, MP2 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, SB folds, UTG 3-bets, MP2 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Anyone make it 3 bets when the CO raises? I didn't want too lose any customers.

Turn: (11.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG bets, MP2 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, UTG calls, CO calls.

River: (17.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, CO checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, CO folds.

Final Pot: 19.50 BB

Jeff, I don't mind the call given your position if you feel that there is good postflop equity when you hit your hand or a draw and will get paid off by the loose players when you do hit it.

You can get in for 2SB with best position and get out cheap those times you whiff. Add in the value of mixing up your play (for those that are paying attention), and I think this is fine.

A few things. Firstly, just because he is a LAG, doesnt make him a loose raiser, and not necessarily UTG. Only you know that(or would like to). Second, only 2 people called in front of you, its not like youre even going to have that great pot odds with so few people. Dont make it 3 bets. You will not win by pairing your card, you need the flush. If UTG wants to take one off with AK to 3 outs, go ahead. Hes just going to cap with a big pair or possibly AQ, then lead the turn. No need to put all those bets in there when drawing.

post-flop is played perfectly, the only thing debateable is pre-flop, and I think this is also a call, though would have to look at the math. I probably call here as well, but want to visit it.

can anyone tell me the odds of flopping 2 pair or better?
and seperately, can anyone tell me the odds of flopping a 4 flush and/or an OESD?

tx.

I'd like the call with a few more customers. The blinds could fold for all you know. It's close, admittedly, but I'd like more action myself for this holding.

This is still a fold preflop. What you have to remember is that UTG LAGs still hold strong hands often.

Once it's 3-bet on the flop and you gain the extra callers closing the action, cap for value. Never mind those times you can take the free card.

Turn and river play themselves but up to then, misplayed on each street.

Go Pats!

I like the flop play.

The Call-2 is fantastic but once everyone calls and he's closing the action, easy easy cap. He's leaving bets behind here.

With 78s you have next odds to flop:

monsters:
2 pairs - 2.02
trips - 1.35
boat - 0.092
quads - 0.010
straight - 1.31
flush - 0.84

OVRL 5.62%

Draws:
flush - 10.94%
open-ended straight - 10.43% (including 46T and 59J)
OVRL - 21.37%

All preferred flops results 27% or 1:2.7 Though, increasing number of players we afraiding of our flush to be busted as well as some straights and of course weak 2pairs.
