Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
I check/fold the turn UI.

Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
I would either pitch this one the turn or call the river. Going all the way to the river only to fold to one more bet seems inconsistent. Surely UTG+2 is overplaying AK often enough to make a call worthwhile?

Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
I'd say this is an iffy call pre-flop (one more caller though and it would be an easy call). But since you didn't hit the flop strong and you're out of position I would have check-called the flop and check/fold the turn (especially since the other two were willing to call two bets on the flop).

Any read on UTG+2?
I think that this hand is fine. Only sketchy part is the flop bet w/o a read IMO. Brad |

Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
Getting 7.5:1 with a suited ace is an easy preflop call.
I'm not quite sure about the flop bet. I might check-call the flop as you are very likely drawing to a winning hand (extra players = dead money in this case). If I had a good read on UTG+2 as a player who would auto-bet/raise overcards, I might have check-raised if nobody else had called his bet. Check-call on the turn is fine since you've got 5 pretty clean outs and you're getting 11:1. (Folding is bad) Check-fold on the river is a little bad since you're closing the action and getting 13:1. Without a read, I'd look him up. Expect to lose most of the time, but expect to beat AK just often enough. This call is easier to make against an agressive player, and harder to make against a passive player. |

Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
Oh, and sorry for the lack of reads -- these hands are from 12/30 and I don't have PT access at work.

Re: Axs from the BB with EP PFR
If he will auto-raise AK and blow everyone away (leaving himself drawing to just 3 outs) then yes I like it. If he is passive postflop then I will check and see what the action is. If I can call for one bet closing the action, then I'll just start taking cards off.
