Casino Arizona trip report
So I'm flying from Houston to Phoenix on Saturday, and I don't need to be up at Flagstaff for school until Tuesday, so I thought I'd stop by Casino Arizona. I get there, put my name down for a 6/12 game (I've played 3/6 and 4/8 live, normally play 3/6 online), and get called after about 30 minutes, at about 7pm. I leave the next day at 1 pm, after 18 hours straight at one table. Up (only) $111, after buying two meals and tipping.
A couple of thoughts: The card room at CA is HUGE. 50 tables or so, with limits from 2/4 to 40/80 HE, and stud, omaha, and a mixed game. No smoking + big TV's = nice. The food was pretty good, too. As for the players, they varied. A few rocks, a few average Joes. A couple of notable hands: I hold QQ UTG. I raise, 90 year old man (very tight) calls. Flop comes 982 rainbow. I bet, he raises, I call. Turn 9. Check/call. River 8. Check/call. He flips over AA. Oops. I hold 55 in SB. Loose guy raised, 4 guys call, I call. Flop K105, suits unimportant. Loose guy bets, all call, I just call. Turn is a 4. Loose guys bets, all call, I raise, all call. River is a K. Loose guy bets, everyone else folds, I raise, he reraises, I cap. He calls and shows KQ. I have 67s in the BB. Same loose guy raises, one caller, I call (probably a terrible call). Flop comes J86, two spades. I check and call. Turn is a red 2. I check and call. River is the A of spades. I check and raise. Loose guy is PISSED when I show my hand. That's about it, I guess. Played pretty tight/aggressive, took a few bad beats, caught a few river flushes. Had a good time. All comments welcome, and I highly recommend Casino Arizona. |

Re: Casino Arizona trip report
good report.
yeah that room is great, I love the tvs they have. I went to NAU also, so I played there on a few occasions. You should check out cliff castle (if you haven't already). Its a reasonable drive from flagstaff to get in some very soft 4-8 games. They also run frequent tournaments there. |
