Default Why was the \"Bot Policy\" thread locked??

Seemed like a pretty decent and interesting conversation for the most part.

What rule did it violate?

Not sure why it was locked other than some 12yr olds calling each other names.

Without a MAJOR anti-bot effort, ALL online games have suffered/been enhanced by bot use.

I used to play a number of MMORPG's, macroing and bots are commonplace. The interfaces and tactics in these games are much more complicated than SMALL STAKES online poker.

I have an aquaintance that programmed a winning poker bot 3 yrs ago and it continues to play to date. It doesn't use PT. It can't beat tough 3/6 tables where 8 of the 10 are avoiding this bot, but add a fish or a maniac and it becomes profitable again at 3/6. It plays ABC poker and is fairly non-complex.

It plays 3rd shift, it never sits at more than one table, and it never sits at a table with less than 5 players.

The aquaintance realizes it is cheating. He happens to be one of those people who LOVES his 9-5, lives comfortably, and just runs his bot as a hobby... and to fund his trips to Vegas.

However he knows my opinion, that all bots should be pursued aggressively and accounts locked and money distributed as fairly as possible. (Heck I'd go for the Anti-Bot Freeroll every month)

Lets see if this gets locked...

You know, there's an easy way to ENSURE that his account gets locked, if you're as anti-bot as you say you are...

Why was the "Bot Policy" thread locked?

Good question. It can't be because of the short exchange between Buster and a few others. Those kinds of arguments happen all over these forums.

It's a weird lock.

But.... Merry freakin' Christmas!
