You were in a unique position to learn how to play 10k tourney events and get 1 on 1 tutoring from a sibling who happened to be a world class player (free of charge i assume...lol).

Of course, apart from the tutoring, everyone needs actual practice and experience in those events in addition to thoeretical training. And while getting experience in other lower buyin events does count, i don't think the kind of expertise you will encounter will be the same there as in the 10K + events.

So my question is this:

How many 10k events did you play before you were very competitive or comfortable playing at those levels?

And how much more would it have been (i know this is speculation) if you did not have howards help along the way?

I am just trying to gauge just how tough it is to break into that level on one's own
