SSHE - outrageous claim?
In the conclusion on page 341, it states that the reader could make $50,000 a year playing $3/$6 online.
If you assume a player puts in 40 hours a week for 50 weeks of the year; this would equate to 2,000 hours of play. Therefore, the win-rate would have to be over 4BB per hour every single hour of the year. Surely this is highly unlikely? |

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
This question has been covered, but might be hard to find in a search. It is assuming multi-tabling online (4 tables) and each table pulling a little over 1BB/hr.

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
This isn't the first thread on this topic. Search the archives. However, if you don't feel up to it, the answer is no, it isn't highly unlikely. Any reasonably skilled player can do this.

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
This topic has been beat to death. To save you from searching I'll tell you the secret to making $50+ at low limits: play multiple tables. Your winrate doesn't need to be extremely high if you put in 80-90k hands a month. By your own math, your winrate per table only needs to be 1 BB/hour if you play 4 tables at a time.

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
it's like deja-vu all over again - ugh.
if you can't do the math on this quit poker. 1BB/hr =1bb per 35 hands, with the weak party competition and faster dealing, I don't think 2bb/hr is outragous. two tables would get you there. |

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
[ QUOTE ]
1BB/hr =1bb per 35 hands [/ QUOTE ] Online tables typically deal 60-65 hands per hour. To win $1k/wk ($50k/yr) you need to win $25/hr X 40 hours. To win $25/hr you just need to win 1BB/hr (about 1.7BB/100) while playing 4 tables of 3/6 (okay okay...so this would actually be $24/hr...so sue me). By the way - it's not just mentioned in the back of the book. It is also mentioned in the front. |

Re: SSHE - outrageous claim?
Thanks for all the posts and the link to the prior discussion!
It's certainly an eye-opener. I didn't realise that 4 tabling was such a viable option, but of course this makes the possibility of earning 1k/wk much more plausible. I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere also, but what's the best way to get 4 tables on a 17" monitor at the same time? Thanks again! |
