I've seen alot of theories on win rate in limit games. It seems that anywhere from 1-3 bbs per hour is decent in a live game (factor up for more hands played online.) What about no limit? Does the same hold true, or should a win rate be higher? Should perhaps a nl player view his win rate based upon the initial buy in rather than the bb? I'm just not sure, and I haven't seen much writing on the subject.

20x the big blind per 100 hands is a excellent winrate for NL. (listed as 10BB/100 in pokertracker)
Most players I believe are around 8BB/100 (pokertracker style) |

in a 50BB game, i think anything above 7 big blinds (3.5 pokertracker BB/100) is excellent. 100BB games come with a higher expected BB/100 for a good player

100BB games come with a higher expected BB/100 for a good player [/ QUOTE ] Probably why I don't play 50BB games. When I threw out the 8BB/100 it was some good players I know pulling that number. Not great , but they don't suck either. |

What is a good win rate (gross) for live games? Is a gross win of 10BB/hour below average, average or above?

Bunky's numbers sound about right to me.
Good players win more bbs in NL than they do in limit. Of course, the bbs are smaller in NL; most people playing $5/$10 NL are not also playing $5/$10 limit, they're playing $25/$50 limit. |
