hey guys,
i'm playing .50/1.00 on party poker i get K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in MP UTG calls, two fold to me. I raise. two more fold, cutoff?, button, SB, BB and UTG call. 6 to the flop with 6 BB in the pot flops comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB bets, BB folds, UTG calls, i raise, cutoff and button fold, SB and UTG call. 3 to the turn with 9 BB in the pot turn is a T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, UTG bets. I was unsure as to the correct play here, but i folded. comments? thanks in advance. |

I fold the flop. People love to play aces (esp. cold call with them). You have a bettor and a caller and a 2 flush on board. If you wanted to get creative with this hand, you could call the flop and raise a non-diamond turn, but it is far to risky and you would need a good read to do it. Raising the flop is counter-productive IMO. If he has an ace/diamond draw the raise doesn't help you at all.

I'd definitely lean toward folding KK to a flopped A any time you have that many in the pot in a game where so many people will play any Ax. Or as Shillx says, you'd have to have a really great read to play cowboys that aggressively.
If one of us had a lot of time we could make assumptions about p(an opponent plays Ax | opponent is dealt Ax), etc. and then use Bayes to calculate p(your kings are good), but off the top of my head i can't imagine it would be enough to stay in for 7:1. |
