Anime nub, I need recos

I started out with the big ones.

Spirited Away
Grave of the Fireflies
Metropolis
Princess Mononoke
Cowboy Bebop
Castle in the Sky

I loved those, but now when I go to best buy and see the wall of anime I have no idea what to get. Especially since most of it is boxed set series. I want to make sure it's going to be good before I invest my money.

If it helps, I like the animation in Metropolis more than I like realistic looking animation. You know, the short squatty type of characters.

Also, if you have cable look at Cartoon Network, especially Saturday nights. They have some good anime on - Fullmetal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, and others.

A great, albeit VERY weird anime is FLCL.
