Application of Strategy in 2+2 \"AP\" Books??
In SSH, it states that the strategy in that book is appropriate for games where most opponents are not playing correctly, seeing too many flops and playing hands too far. It also states that the strategy in HPFAP is appropriate for games in which most opponents are playing correctly most of the time.
By extension, is the strategy in the other "Advanced Player" books (7 Stud and Hi-Lo Split 7 Stud and Omaha) most appropriate for games where opponents are generally playing correctly? By further extension, does this mean that the strategy in these books is not the optimal strategy for these games in which most opponents are not playing correctly? Which of course leads to the final question: if the above assumptions are true, what are the optimal strategies for small stakes stud and hi-lo? |

Re: Application of Strategy in 2+2 \"AP\" Books??
Hi Ben:
It's stated very clearly in SCSFAP that the strategies given are not optimal for small stakes stud. A lot of that has to do with the ante. In my book Poker Essays, Volume II there is an essay called "The Two Types of Stud." In HLSFAP the Omaha eight-or-better section addresses play at both the smaller limit and higher limit games. Best wishes, Mason |
