Default ROI and ITM

For $10 limit SNG's here are my places with an ROI of 74.93% over 66 SNGs and 54.55% ITM.

$10 Limit
1- 14
2- 13
3- 9
4- 2
5- 6
6- 4
7- 8
8- 4
9- 3
10- 3

I know the ROI is unsustainable but I thought I was doing well enough that I should try and move up to $20 limit SNGs.
I haven't been doing too well at these. Over 16 I have a ROI of -3.41% and ITM of 31.25%.

$20 Limit
1- 2
2- 1
3- 2
4- 1
5- 2
6- 3
7- 2
8- 1
9- 2
10- 0

Besides the sample sizes being too small, what should I do? Move back down to the $10 ones? Could I not be a winning SNG player and it all be due to luck?

are these your first 66 SnG's? i'm assuming so. great job - but your sample size is microscopic. unless there is something else i'm missing here (you have tracked all these games with notes and they were 60% bad beats, you have identified all your leaks, you have a poker djinn who will grant you 100 hands of AA over your next 20 games), i would build up your bankroll at the 10% level and get some more games under your belt.

Yes. Yes. and yes for the sample sizes being too small too.

actually, the answer for the move down question is more complicated.
move down if you feel like it. if you feel like you're getting constantly outplayed at the 20s or that you can't afford to play those stakes, move down. if you have no reason to and like are comfortable for the stakes and are fine with some gamblind, gamble if you want.

They're my first 66 limit sngs. I've played about 300 NL $10 and $20 buy-ins with a ROI of roughly 35%.

Being primarily a NL SnG lowbie for the time being, don't know if I'm the best person to comment on limit Sng's. A 35% RoI over 300 games is good - but it is still a pretty small amount. Based upon your results at the 20$s, I'd say study up on your limit game while pounding the 10's. Get a few hundred more under your belt. If nothing else, the larger bankroll you will build will be a nice psychological cushion (if it was a factor before).

I'd start playing both 10s and 20s. Play like 2 or 3 10s, and if you are on a roll (just got a 1st or something), try a 20. I find when I usually get a 1st, I get my confidence up enough to try a higher limit and do well. There's nothing wrong with playing at both limits at the same time. Right now I can play anywhere from the $5s to the $30s (for NL though), but it just depends on my mood. My guess is you are just not used to the competition at the higher stakes. Different tricks don't work at different stakes. For instance, if I get dealt AA on $5s, I open raise from 15 to at least 2-300, b/c I know some chump will call. If I'm at the $10 or $20, I might limp reraise. At $30, I'm usually raising myself, but probably from like 15 to 60 or 75. Different plays work at different stakes. I imagine you can get away with steals a lot more at the $10 level than the $20 level for a limit sng.

So while maintaining/increasing your bankroll at the $10 level, work on your game at the $20 level, and try to notice the difference.
