Default OHIO--Mybe not over?

On CNN, Toobin was saying the Dems would probably demand a recount and if the margin shrinks to 50K, they would count the some 200K provisional ballots (180K of which may be valid) and that could swing it?

Whoa.

Provisional ballot does not equal kerry vote. You get that if you show up and aren't on the roster, etc. etc. I don't see it breaking much more than a few 10k's in kerry's favor.

Just saw that too, I would like to beleive its possible but I just think its grasping at straws. Although I've seen plenty of runner-runner perfect-perfect hands in my life.

You are probably right. Just throwing out that this could be contested for days to come, and we'd have a quasi-repeat of 2000.

Demand all you want ..... the 130,000 vote margin is too much to overcome ...... a recount is typically only granted when the margin is 1/2 of 1%. A recount won't change a thing.

Please note, I am not an attorney, I am not demanding anything. I'm just repeating what I heard.

According to TV, the margin would have to be less than .25% of the total vote to trigger the automatic recount.

I'm pretty sure they would break for Kerry. Mary Poppins voted Kerry for sure.

Yeah but Snowball I, Mrs Bananas, and Humphrey Boa-Gart are all obviously Bush fans.

You forget about the dead animal vote.

The projected Bush margin in Ohio is at least 200,000, the projected # of provisional ballots is anywhere from 120,000 - 140,000 (100,000 in 2000).

Long story short- Kerry would have to get about 90% of the provisional ballots to make up that margin (all projected #s).

Doesn't look good.
