Default How to proceed on the river here

You're in the big blind with no cards, 7/9o.

The flop is 6/8/J rainbow giving you the OESD. You bet.

The turn is a 3. You bet.

The River is a Queen. You've made nothing and been called at every opportunity.

Do you throw another bet out? Or do you check then fold to a bet? Or do you call any bet since you are so far into the pot?

You've given nowhere near enough information for anyone to answer this question accurately.

It depends. On many things.

Why would you call with 9 high? You'll be shown bottom pair much more often than say, 57. If think you'the pot is too big to give it up (it's not here BTW), you should at least take a stab with a bet.

bweiser,

As others have said:

(1) You need to provide more information (i.e., a narrative of how the hand played out including such things as number of players and their position, the betting on each round, a brief description of how your opponents play, etc.) in order to get meaningful advice.

(2) Check-calling on the end is a bad choice. With a busted draw you should either bet out or check-raise (as a bluff) or you should check-fold your hand.

I will also add that oftentimes you should check-call on the flop rather than bet out. I would only bet this flop if I thought that there was a reasonable chance I could pick up the pot immedietly.
