6 Tables killing my win rate?
I've been playing the party 15/30 games for around 6 months now. For the first 5 months I was multitabling 4 tables and had about 110K hands in my pokertracker with a win rate of 1.7 BB/100. While 1.7 BB/100 isn't anything to brag about, it was a respectable beginning to my 15/30 career and my knowledge of the game was continuing to grow with experience.
So at the beginning of October a bought a new computer with a dual monitor set up. My goal was to double my hands played per month by playing 8 tables without effecting my BB/100. I quickly found out that 8 tables was just too much for me to handle and settled in on 6 tables. For the most part I am comfortable with 6 tables and don't feel its any tougher than 4 tabling. Probably with each additional table that you add you lose a little on your BB/100 or we would all be playing 16 tables. So for the past month I have been playing 6 tables and have played 36K hands. My win rate for the month is .5 and I'm sick about it. Could the 2 extra tables effect my win rate that much or is 36K hands too small of a sample size? Has anyone else gone through a similar experience and how did you resolve it? |

Re: 6 Tables killing my win rate?
What is your SD/100 for the first 110K hands and the subsequent 36K hands? Using 16BB/100, a player with a 1.7BB/100 should have a 36K hand streak of 0.5BB/100 or worse about 8% of the time. This number goes up if your win rate drops or your SD goes up. For example, if your 6 table win rate is really 1.5BB/100, the chance of a 0.5BB/100 or worse streak in 36K hands goes to about 12%.

Filter for the time period you want, then go to Session Notes, and More Detail.

Re: 6 Tables killing my win rate?
36k isn't enough hands to definitively prove anything one way or another. It could be variance, it could be degradation in play.
We all have bad months. |
