3/6...KJ...Full on turn...should I just sandbag for max profit?
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls. Flop: (10.33 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) BB bets, Hero calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls. Turn: (7.66 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) BB bets, Hero ? Is this where it's better to just call since the BB or one of the 3 behind likely have a flush draw and I want them to catch up on the river. I will also have the option to raise the BB on the river as he's showing strength into me even thought I PFRed. |

Why didn't you raise the flop?
Once you called, call and collect over calls on the turn. Go Sox! -Joe Tall |

I don't know about raising preflop. You'll get called by better hands, usually.
I definitely raise this flop b/c of the two hearts. In your situation, I'd probably raise the turn. You'll still get all but the tightest of players staying in on their flush draws, and hopefully BB has a king and 3-bets you. |

I really dont like the pre flop raise
raise the flop raise the turn. yeah you want to let the flush draws catch up, but 1) they wont make the flush but 1 time in 5 and 2) they wont give you alot of action when they make it because the board is paired. Raise now so they call the 2 bets to get the flush |

He's playing a little short handed and likely has the best hand out of the 5 others, the raise if fine. Now if you are going to play poorly post flop, raising KJo out of position is going to crush you. Go Sox! -Joe Tall |

[/ QUOTE ] If I raise on the flop, and they call 2 with the flush draw, aren't I only improving the pot odds to then call a bet on the turn compared to if I call the flop bet, then raise the bettor on the turn then facing my opponents with calling 2 BBs on the turn for a flush, then they would be getting incorrect pot odds to call? |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think there is anyway to give a flush draw incorrect odds to call here. The pot was 7BB, now 8 with the bet, now 10 with your raise. The flush draw needs only 4.1:1 to call. Getting 5:1 and the implied odds they are getting it's not really close. |
