Default Party 15/30 KK hand

15/30, the usual place.

I have K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and raise UTG. A somewhat LAGGish player 3-bets me in EMP. Unknown poster cold calls in the CO. The BB, who is also unknown but hasn't done anything out of line, caps. It is called around.

Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. BB bets, I call, EMP raises, CO calls, and BB 3-bets. I fold.

I think you should raise BB's bet on the flop here.
If you know for sure EMP is raising reguardless of what happens, then calling to see the action following his raise is understandable, and can save you 1 sb. However, You dont really want to call and have it get called around. You put yourself into a big pot without enough information to fold without putting in a couple big bets. I like to take over with kings in this pot and see how they react facing 2, and how the bb plays vs my raise.
I agree with the fold, looks like you've run into aces or a set.

I can come up with a scenario where you are ahead, but it involves putting people on hands so that you can be ahead while ignoring evidence to the contrary, of which there is plenty. Add that to the chances that your hand, if ahead, won't end up ahead by the river, and the fold seems well advised.

Wow. Tough fold. Very nice. It's a big pot and you have a beauty of a hand, but it's not good enough and you're facing some nasty reverse implied odds. Way to recognize when a strong hand isn't strong enough.

My instinct is to raise the flop bet, but the more I think about it, the more I like your play. Sweet.

Good luck.
Eric

Nate-

Nice flop line, as usual I am impressed.

What are you doing on the turn if the, 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] falls and BB bets into you?

I don't understand the flop call. Why is it not an easy raise?
