Cold call AJo on the button?
Do you cold call with AJo on the button? Why or why not? Table dependent?

Re: Cold call AJo on the button?
Domination. For me it is not dependent on the table generally, but on a specific read of the raiser and of any other coldcallers. If the raiser will raise a broad range of hands, and I am next to act, I'll usually re-raise to knock out the blinds and get it heads up.
This is an unusual circumstance at micros and small stakes, though. It doesn't take much for me to fold this to a raise. |

Re: Cold call AJo on the button?
Facing a preflop raise, AJo is a poor hand. Against an average player, the potential for domination is huge. It has little value other than Top Pair, and playing top pair postflop will be tough. It does not play well multi-way. If the PFR is crazy or super LAG, I would 3-bet, but not cold-call. There is very little advantage to having the button with this hand in this situation.
With AJs, I may consider cold-calling if there were other cold-callers because of the added flush value. |
