Is Phil H. weak-tight?
Man he makes some bad laydowns. I would rather be wrong or get outdrawn than play scared poker.

Re: Is Phil H. weak-tight?
At time on his TV appearance he appears to be at times.
I believe it's possible some weaker but aggressive opponents have picked up on this over time. KC |

[ QUOTE ]
Phil H. plays tight. You post weak. [/ QUOTE ] For one, I like Phil because he is a funny guy, and he is a good tournament HE player. He seems to play scared too often, I've noticed if he gets raised, he immediately checks -calls the turn. Against the amateur when he flopped top pair in the WSOP 04' and against Hoyt Corkins on the WPT. Both times he had the two guys buried and both times he let them off light. He needs to be more aggresive and have a all or nothing attitude. |

Re: Is Phil H. weak-tight?
You'd rather be out drawn. Phil would rather win WSOP Hold'Em bracelets. He's succeeded in grabbing 9 of them. Hmm...

Re: Is Phil H. weak-tight?
i played with him once (2-4 limit online, just kidding) actually at a wpt event. weak tight definitely does not describe him. he plays lots of hands. tends to make a small raise every hand he plays or a small bet after every flop. however generally will lay it down to a raise. paul p could probably comment better. style probably will lead to him accumulating a ton of chips early in a tourney soon because has been awhile and his style does have its advantages.

Re: Is Phil H. weak-tight?
Maybe Phil is taking a long range view and is trying to set everyone up for playing him differently. He'll continue to be the master of the laydown for another 6 months or so and then change gears for the WSOP.
Or maybe not. |

Re: Is Phil H. weak-tight?
I don't think anyone is a position to judge Phil from what we see on TV. The viewed sample size is to small and selected with a bias for entertainment value. Showing a pro make a really bad decision, bluff badly, or be succesfully bluffed out, act incredulous, or obnoxious - seem to get priority. He plays thousands of hands a month. You have seen probably < 30 hands of his where he has played. How do you make a statement like that and discount his multi-bracelet record. You could likely learn a lot of positive things from his play. So could I.
