I really did not like the flop, felt it was quite toxic but that i still had the best hand. Would this be a situation in a tournament where you could possibly fold and avoid getting crippled on the flop reraise?
and no this isn't a bad beat story, i'm just wondering if i played this correctly... just went out in 1300th, set over set....yeesh. anyway. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (10 handed) UTG+1 (t1510) UTG+2 (t1740) Hero (t1095) MP2 (t1820) MP3 (t1125) CO (t905) Button (t830) SB (t440) BB (t1020) UTG (t1415) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t20, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises to t80, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls t80, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 calls t60. No way to avoid this. A fold here would be awful. He is a shortish stack making less than a potsized raise and you have big odds to call. He may well be on a draw (KQ) or holding AJ (or even AK or AQ).

Why do you have regrets? You were ahead in the hand.

[/ QUOTE ] Don't use results oriented thinking. think about the hand - you have the nuts. There are 4 playable hands you could be behind when he pushes you all in. JJ, TT, 33 and JT. you still have re-draws against either, with your Aces and a runner runner straight. This is an unlikely push to make with an OESD of 2 unders. so we can rule out 89. If he had any other PP your way ahead. If he has AT or AJ your way ahead. Even if he ha KQ (as he did), he is drawing to 6 outs, and 2 of those outs give you re-draws to a full house. |
