What are you doing to study/improve your game?
Once you have read/re-read the long list of poker books, and you are playing poker on a regular basis, what are you doing to keep improving your game?
I find myself play hand after hand the same way again and again. I am a slow net winner and am looking for techniques to improve my hourly rate. Without debating specific hands and specific decisions what kind of study to you put into your game? Suggestion that have worked for you? |

Read this forum.
EDIT: Not the Internet Gambling forum, the appropriate forum for the limit your are playing (Micro for 0.5/1 and 1/2; Small Stakes for 2/4 to 5-10; Mid and High Stakes for higher than 5/10, and Headsup/Shorthanded for 6max games) |

Re: What are you doing to study/improve your game?
I put my hand histories in the replayer and watch my play. Specifically I look at the hands that made my chips greatly increase/decrease.
I also compare my playing style from when I do really well to when I bust out quickly, just to make sure I wasn't making stupid calls. Then I also try to calm myself when I get outdrawn by a retarded player. I keep reminding myself that I've hit my one-outer before and sometimes [censored] just happens, and I gotta keep playing the same way .... |

Yea, good thoughts. I have just recently been adding hands to poker tracker and watching the replay of my hands.
Anybody have a story like: I started doing ??? and it increased my profits from 1bb to 2bb/hr. |

[/ QUOTE ] Poker's weird because this isn't a really good way to figure out if you've played well on a given hand or not. Playing well is one thing; results are another. They correspond to one another in the long term but not necessarily in the short term. |

Re: Get a tutor
It's good idea to post e-mail addresses in spam-protected view to forums. Like this john(AT)hisdomain(DOT)com
Spam robots scan forums day and night to obtain new mails to send their ads. |

Re: Get a tutor
True, however if you really do use him as a tutor, I am very interested in some of the details. Do you mind sharing them or have another link to a web site?
