Default Fishy games and tournies in LA?

Anybody have any recommendations for fishy games and tournies in the LA area? I'm going to be in the area for a couple of weeks and would like to check out some of the local cardrooms. I play 3/6 - 5/10 limit HE and Omaha/8, and I play some NL HE tournies with buy-ins of up to $50 (freeze-outs and some re-buys). Any suggestions?

Thanks,

ts-

Everywhere you go to play in Los Angeles is fishy.

If you've never been here before, go to the Commerce and then the Bike and go from there. If you have, just roll dice and decide or something.

the only placed I've ever really played at is Hollywood Park. I was seeing some ridiculous cards at showdowns (people capping pre-flop with k/10 off), but I wasn't sure if that was just the game at HP or the same throughout the city. if it's like that elsewhere, then I'm getting more excited to get back to LA.

thanks for the responses,

Boo the 9 game. $5 drop? No freaking way. It's beyond his BR anyway though. The Commerce has 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, and 6/12, going 24/7. But really, the 9 game at the Commerce sucks. The 15 and 20 are just as soft, but with a much better drop, fully comped all you can eat food, and half-price massages.

you're right - the 9/18 is way beyond my BR right now. i will try the 3/6 and 4/8 at commerce when i get to town, thanks for the suggestion.

any recommendations for low buy-in ($50 or less) NLHE or O/8 tournies in the area?

Hollywood Park Casino (based on my one experience).

On a lark I went to Hollywood Park to try a "B&M" cardroom (never been in one before). Bear in mind I have been playing poker for only about 6 weeks and that I am a slightly LOSING (but improving) $0.50/$1.00 player on partypoker.

However, despite my lack of knowledge and expertise, it was clear to me that there was a lot of bad play. These folks would call anything! There was absolutely no strategy or subtlety to what they were doing. Maybe my experience was an anomaly, but I found it to be MUCH looser than partypoker $0.50/$1.00.

Downside: somewhat creepy environment; i hear commerce casino is much nicer.
